Saving Lives

Perhaps the title for this blog should really have been "Eliminating Lives!"

Selection of embryos for implantation based on genetic information does provide for improved prospects to raise babies that have fewer in-born errors that culminate in malformations and disease. Technically though, this is not "saving lives." It is just killing off these embryos earlier on before too much time, energy and costs have expended on them and facilitating a rediversion of these resources for more "normal" and healthier offsprings.
